Clean sweep for First Catering Course

Candidates from catering businesses in and around Lowick scored 100% examination success in the first Food Safety training course held by newly established company Marriner Business Support.

Successful candidates received their certificates last week from Rob Marriner, course tutor at a ceremony in the White Swan, Lowick. The businesses are guest houses and a public house in and around the village, and the qualification recognises their achievement of a national standard in knowledge of food safety and legislation, which will assure the public that they will be served good safe food.

Irene Bellerby of Primrose Cottage Guest House, Lowick said “although the tourism inspections check the quality of the bedrooms and dining room, we wanted to demonstrate that we take what goes on in the kitchen seriously. We enjoyed the course and learned a lot, and now we have a certificate to display to all our customers, and which helps to promote our business”.
